Morning in Ubud,
when students go to school. |

Bali will not be recognized as it is
today without the work of many generations of it's people.
Some of Bali's celebrated achievements are
clear enough to be noticed as human contributions, such as architecture
and many other arts forms, farming and rice field cultivation, economic
health, community or group work for many social activities. The others
are often too subtle to be noticed immediately, such as protection of nature,
maintenance of spiritual balance, and moral practice.
Through long journey in history, from migration period more than
2 thousand years ago, kingdom period in the middle age to early 20'th century,
revolution for Indonesia independent, until this modern day business, tourism,
and globalization, the Balinese had managed to live as closely as possible
to the ideal value they collectively respect. |
