Other Dive Sites :

Mimpi Tulamben
Mimpi Resort Tulamben is located in east Bali about 100 km northeast of Denpasar. While traveling there you will pass through truly idyllic Balinese country side and rice terraces, bustling towns and quiet villages.

The main attraction in Tulamben Bay is the wreck of USS Liberty, an American merchant ship sunk in World war II. After lying on the beach for some years, it was pushed to its final resting - place by the eruption of Mount Agung in 1963. The remains now fully encrusted with all kinds of corals play host to a dazzling array of reef fish and other marine life.

To the right of the resort stands a magnificent coral wall, plunging from shallow water to well over 50 metres. This area is also a haven for a huge variety of corals and marine life, and a haven for some of the world's top underwater photographers. ( visit Mimpi Resort Tulamben

Candi Dasa / Padang Bai
Candi Dasa and Padang Bai are about 65 km from the southern tourist areas and 45 minutes drive from Tulamben. Candi Dasa's main dive is Gili Tepekong, a small rocky island famous for its swirling underwater canyons. Padang Bai is very picturesque, surrounded by majestic cliffs and hills. The dives in the bay are again made special by the coral growth and marine life activity.

Amed
Amed is also situated on Bali's north-east coast, just a 20 minutes ride away from Mimpi Tulamben. Diving here is done from the boats of the local fisherman. Just few minutes out from the beach, divers can drift through gardens of coral beds, experience stunning drop off, and observe large numbers of reef fish.

Nusa Lembongan / Nusa Penida
Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan are islands located a short boat trip from Bali's south-eastern shore. Here the white sandy bottom and cool, crystal clear water combine with swift currents to produce some of the most exciting drift diving available. Divers gaze in amazement as they fly past underwater grottoes and vast coral banks teeming with fish. Mimpi dive centre at Nusa Dua can arrange a trip to Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan.

Banyuwedang Thermal Water

Water Quality
The Banyuwedang hot springs, located partially on the grounds of the Mimpi Resort Menjangan, supply the resort with high quality sodium-chloride-calcium- sulphate water, at a basic temperature of 46.4 C. According to a testified spa and mineral water analysis by the German Company Hidroisotop, the water is to be characterized as a "aqua ex fonte thermal oligominerale", with a comparatively very low content of solute gases and radioactivity (Radium & Radon).

Comparison with other well-known Spa water
The Banyuwedang spa water can be compared with other well-known thermal spring waters such as Aachen, Neuenahr, Pyrmont and Baden-Baden of Germany, Evian and Vichy of France, and Bath of UK, as well as with mineral waters like Hirschquelle, Gerolsteiner, Nauheimer and Rosbacher Urquell.

Natural hot spring jacuzzi

Possible forms of application
  1. Internal : The water fulfills the standards of the German Regulations on Mineral Waters, and may be served for drinking for a specified length of time. Local inhabitants have been drinking this water all their life with good health effects and there are reports on comparatively better dental and dermal health of the people using it.
  2. External : Skin contact applications such as prolonged warm showering, cold and warm showering, warm baths, thermal changing baths (Kneipp's Wechselbad), warm/cold "Kneipp's Surprise" applications (Guss), and carbon dioxide or oxygen-added sprinkling spa applications. Soup need not be used extensively as a hardness of 6.5 classifies the water as rather "soft". The slightly acid pH of 6.5 makes the water very friendly to the skin. A shooting effect is reported by persons suffering from chronic skin lesions or inflammations (dermatitis, etc.) due to its natural contents of low-level H2S-gas and SO4-ions which are known to render specific dermal effects. As the water is rather salt-depleted, drying of the skin after bathing is not necessary.
  3. Enthrall : Enemas and Colonic Therapy are possible and are world-wide regarded as safe.
The Menjangan Spa application
Banyuwedang thermal water may be used for the following treatments : relaxing bath, rejuvenating cures of the skin, therapeutic applications (i.e. changing warm and cold baths for the limbs, prolonged warm shower-bathing for rheumatoid pains, Colonic, oxygen or CO2 added sprinkling bath, controlled hypothermia sessions, etc.).
