Book Description
A beginning instruction book for the flute of Bali.
The author, Julia Hansen , August 1, 1999
Instruction for the Bamboo Flute of Bali
I am a musician who is lucky enough to live in Bali for part of every
year. Anita, the owner of one of the bookstores in Ubud, Bali, knows that
I write books on Balinese music and asked me to write this book for her
customers who purchase bamboo flutes from her but don't know how to play
them. If you have a Balinese flute, this book will show you how to play
twelve songs. The songs start out easy and get progressively more difficult,
but I encourage readers to improvise their own songs as much as possible.
The book contains a guide to fingering and suggestions for technique.
