René Querido presents here a historical overview of the Western
perspective of karma and rebirth, which he places in the context of the
spiritual-scientific research of Rudolf Steiner. He has chosen a representative
selection of Steiner's lectures and writings discussing the causes and
effects of karma in relation to world events, natural phenomena, illness,
and much more. Steiner describes how we can begin to understand our own
karma in the light of past incarnations and how we can take greater responsibility
for our own destinies.
RUDOLF STEINER (1861-1925) became a respected and well-published scientific, literary, and philosophical scholar, particularly known for his work on Goethe's scientific writings. At the beginning of the twentieth century, he began to develop his earlier philosophical principles into an approach to methodical research of psychological and spiritual phenomena. His multifaceted genius has led to innovative and holistic approaches in medicine, philosophy, religion, education (Waldorf schools), special education (the Camphill movement), economics, agriculture (biodynamics), science, architecture, and the arts (drama, speech and eurythmy). In 1924 he founded the General Anthroposophical Society, which has branches throughout the world. RENÉ QUERIDO is the former director of Rudolf Steiner College, Fair Oaks, California. He has, for almost fifty years, practiced Rudolf Steiner's spiritual science, including the esoteric study of biography. In this volume, he challenges us to take up our own spiritual research concerning the evolution of our individual human soul and spirit throughout all of evolution. |
