This book discusses the the character of Bharata in the Ramayana.Bharata
is offered an opportunity to enjoy the power and wealth which comes from
being king of Ayodhya. His heart, however,is filled with a deep sense of
righteousness and he will not accept any gain which comes to him through
unjust means. Bharata's sense of justice is matched only by his love for
Rama. The author shows how Bharata stands as a powerful symbol of inspiration
and resistance to the temptations of power.
