Architecture combines elements from Africa, Asia and Mexico, into a
hybrid tropical architecture. Each villa encompasses Western style residential
quarters within a tropical atmosphere. Conical thatched roofs shade the
houses, which are elegantly furnished in teak with many built-in elements.
Terrazzo, inlaid floors stay cool in the heat of the day.
Soft furnishings are from richly woven textiles with plenty of cushions
for relaxing and lounging. Authentic oriental carpets are scattered throughout
living areas and bedroom suites. Original artwork and ethnic artifacts
lend to the decor, with an emphasis on stone and bronze statuary with Hindu,
Buddhist and Indian influence, many artistically positioned in niches. |
